- Fresh from the success of ‘Hello, Love, Goodbye,’ Alden Richards is back to doing teleseryes again via GMA Network’s ‘The Gift‘
- ‘The Gift’ is expected to replace ‘Love You Two’ in its timeslot
- ‘The Gift’ will be the direct rival show of Angel Locsin’s ‘The General’s Daughter’
Last year, Alden Richards made his teleserye comeback through the action-fantasy series ‘Victor Magtanggol‘ after his failed teleserye with Maine Mendoza titled ‘Destined To Be Yours‘ in 2017.
Alden seemed to hit rock bottom with his career as his last two teleseryes received the worst reviews from critics and negative feedback from viewers.
Victor Magtanggol‘ even became the subject of mockery online, usually criticizing the show’s poor animations and epic fails.
This year, Alden’s fans are hoping for the best for his upcoming teleserye ‘The Gift’ after doing the box office hit Hello, Love, Goodbye‘ with Kathryn Bernardo. The trailer of ‘The Gift’ was quite impressive.
In this teleserye, Alden will be playing the role of Joseph or Sep and his parents played by Jean Garcia and TJ Trinidad. His father was killed by cops who thought that he was drawing a gun from his pocket when he was actually just getting a rosary. Jean later loses the boy Alden in the crowd while they are in Quiapo.
A fruit vendor and fortune teller, Elizabeth Oropesa, sees him and takes him home where he is raised by Jo Berry as her own child. Alden as Sep grows up as a vendor in Divisoria, a young man with a happy personality. But during a gang war, he was accidentally shot in the head. He loses his eyesight but in return, he is given an unusual gift: he can see a person’s past and also foretell the future.
