The phenomenal hit series “Wildflower” is the only Philippine drama series that has been nominated as Best Asian Drama in the 1st Asia Contents Awards, which will be held in Busan, South Korea on October 6.

The Maja Salvador-starrer will compete with outstanding Asian TV series from South Korea, China, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia.

The 1st Asia Contents Awards aims to reward the finest TV dramas produced across Asia in the last five years.

It is organized by the renowned film festival Busan International Film Festival and Asian Film Market, an annual film market in South Korea.

“Wildflower” also continues to make waves worldwide now that it airs in three French-speaking countries New Caledonia, Polynesia, and Reunion with the recent partnership of ABS-CBN with Ampersand fiction, a French content distributor.

It is also currently shown in several French-speaking African countries and will soon air in Madagascar this October with the Kapamilya network’s deal with Startimes.

“Wildflower” aired on ABS-CBN in 2017 and reigned in primetime TV for a year.

Its main protagonist Ivy Aguas/Lily Cruz was noted for her embodiment of women empowerment and fighting against oppression as she took down the vicious clan of Ardiente.
