- Yam Laranas is the director behind hit horror movies Aurora, Sigaw, and The Road
- The Dead Rise in Morgue: Night Shift will serve as Yam Concepcion’s very first horror movie
Aside from having a teleserye, Yam Concepcion will be starring in an upcoming movie under the helm of Yam Laranas.
According to Yam, “Finally, nakatrabaho ko na ang dream director ko. Si Direk Yam Laranas. Abangan nila, horror film siya. I feel like it’s a philosophical horror at ‘yung title niya ay Nightshift. Coming soon. Nasa LA si Direk ngayon, he’s editing and adding some music, ganun.”
She added, “Ako, matatakot ako kasi parang ano siya e, parang it’s about death. Hindi lang siya ‘yung typical na scary movie horror movie na tipong gulatan. Hindi e. It’s more to that. Horror siya pero it talks more about death – where you’ll go when you die.”
The Dead Rise in Morgue: Night Shift is about a woman who gets stuck in the morgue – on her first day – working as an assistant to a pathologist when the dead begin to manifest signs of resurrection.
Not believing in the concept of the ‘afterlife’, she is challenged to face the reality that the strange weather outside, recurring earthquakes, and an unearthly trumpet sound could be the countdown to the end of days.
