- Maine Mendoza and Carlo Aquino’s movie Isa Pa With Feelings is one of the most anticipated movies this year
- Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo’s Hello, Love, Goodbye is still breaking box office records
- Will Isa Pa With Feelings exceed the success of Hello, Love, Goodbye?
Maine Mendoza and Carlo Aquino’s upcoming movie Isa Pa With Feelings is one of the most anticipated local movies this year.
The movie will be produced by Black Sheep Productions, a subsidiary of Star Cinema, with the collaboration of APT Entertainment. It will be helmed by Prime Cruz, the director behind the indie movies Sleepless in 2015 and Ang Manananggal sa Unit 23B in 2016. His first mainstream movie Can We Still Be Friends which was led by Gerald Anderson and Arci Muñoz, did not make much noise at the box-office and did not make the Top 10 local movies in 2017.
Maine and Carlo’s team-up movie is expected to follow in the footsteps of the box-office hit Star Cinema movie Hello, Love, Goodbye. Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards—Maine’s other half in their phenomenal love team AlDub—star in the blockbuster. As of this writing, the movie has earned more than P600 million pesos and is currently having international screenings.
Some believe that Isa Pa With Feelings stands to match the success of Hello, Love, Goodbye in terms of number of theatres, first-day gross, breadth in scope and other aspects. But others says that the Maine-Carlo tandem cannot outshine the film which was directed by Blockbuster film director Cathy Garcia-Molina and heavily promoted by Star Cinema.
The challenge is now placed on Maine’s shoulders considering that her previous love team partner, Alden, is now reaping his success after starring in the hit Star Cinema movie. It was earlier this year when Maine decided to do solo projects. Maine is currently the latest Kapuso who crossed over to ABS-CBN to work with Kapamilya stars following Alden.

However, Maine said in her recent interview that she is not into figures. She said that she was also happy for the successful tandem of Kathryn and Alden.
“Honestly ako, ang nasa utak ko ngayon, sa gagawin naming pelikula, wala sa akin kung (ako kasi ito as an actress, hindi as a producer), main focus ko lang ngayon ay makagawa ng magandang pelikula. Hindi ko iniisip kasi never namang naging big deal sa akin ‘yung kikitain ng pelikula or kung saan mapupunta ang pelikula. Pero ako ang gusto ko lang, gusto kong maging sure na makagawa kami lahat ng pelikula na magiging proud kami dahil maganda, dahil nagawa namin ang istorya, ang lahat, ang executions,” she said during the renewal of contract for her endorsement for Mundipharma’s Betadine Fresh Bliss last August 1.
Apart from her movie with Carlo, Maine is also set to work with Vic Sotto for the 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival entry Mission Unstapabol: The Don.
Maine last starred in the 2018 action comedy movie Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles with Coco Martin. It earned an estimated gross income of P 370 million at the box office. Her last movie with Alden was titled Imagine You and Me reportedly had an income of P 120 million.
On the other hand, Carlo made two movies last year. He starred in the reunion movie with his ex-girlfriend Angelica Panganiban titled Exes Baggage under the direction of Dan Villegas. It was released in September 2018 by Black Sheep Productions and collected more than P 355 million. He was also partnered with Bela Padilla for the movie Meet Me in St. Gallen.Directed by Irene Villamor under Spring Films and Viva Films, the movie earned more than P 75 million.
Isa Pa with Feelings was described as a modern romantic comedy by its film director.T he film will tell the story of two broken people who will meet each other.
