The popular and youthful mayor of Pasig, Vico Sotto. is setting the online world abuzz after admitting that he has had no girlfriend since birth. He even joked that he is now open for “applicants” for a possible girlfriend.
In an interview with Winnie Monsod for her TV show Bawal Ang Pasaway, Vico confessed that he has never had a girlfriend due to his hectic schedules at work.
“Wala ho. Masyadong naging busy, lalo na po ngayon. Busy sa trabaho,” Vico said.
He was also asked if his parents’ (Vic Sotto and Coney Reyes) separation caused him to show no interest in finding love. But Vico, who is vocal about his passion for work, denied the speculation.
“Hindi ko lang naplano. Lalo na ngayon, last thing on my mind ika nga. Talagang focus muna sa trabaho,” he said.
Vico said that his dream girl is smart and should have the “same wavelength” with him so that they can talk about governance.
“Ang gusto ko ho sana, hindi naman tayo magiging choosy no, gusto ko sana ‘yung matalino, may itsura naman, wala namang special talaga,” Vico said.
“More than matalino, gusto ka sana same wavelength kami lalo na sa topic ng governance,” he added.
The 30-year-old mayor revealed that he planned to get married before the age of 40, and is now open for “applicants.”
“Sana naman before 40. Sa ngayon ang masasabi ko lang diyan, Diyos na po ang bahala. Tumatanggap naman ako ng aplikante,” he joked.
These resumes went viral on Facebook.
Many netizens flooded social media with their reactions and expressed their interest in “applying.”
Hi po mayor @VicoSotto nabalitaan ko po na natanggap kayo nang aplikante? Tanong ko lang po sana kung san po ako pwede magpasa nang resume? Magbabakasakali lang po. Salamat po. 🥰💕

Meanwhile, Vico on Twitter clarified his statement: “I made this joke during an interview to change the topic. It is definitely not newsworthy. If i knew it would get this much attention i just wouldnt have answered. If we want better governance, we should stop treating our government officials like showbiz personalities.”
