Sanya Lopez, a GMA Network artist, is known for her portrayal as Lorna in the 2014 afternoon series, The Half Sisters, and as the new Hara Danaya in the Encantadia remake in 2016.
She also starred in the 2018 movie Wild and Free opposite Derrick Monasterio.
In an interview, the 23-year-old actress said that she is willing to cross networks and collaborate with Kapamilya stars following the success of her fellow Kapuso Alden Richards’ movie with Kathryn Bernardo, Hello, Love, Goodbye. The Star Cinema film, which premiered on July 31, has now earned more than 500 million pesos as of August 12.
She shared that she is open to working with Kapamilya stars in a movie given that it is a good project.
“Basta mabigyan lang ako ng magandang project o kahit sino pa na kasama ang Kapamilya stars, kahit babae pa nga yan eh okay lang sa akin. Ready naman ako. Tatanggapin ko po ‘yon. Ang importante naman sa akin ay maganda ‘yong storya,” Sanya said in an exclusive interview with Philstar.com before her Skechers Performance Run 2019.
Gerald Anderson was her co-endorser of the brand and was also present at the said event. When asked about her possible team up with controversial actor, the actress gave an affirmative answer.
“Why not? Trabaho lang naman. Pagdating sa trabaho, binibigay ko naman yun so if ever si Gerald, pwede naman po. Wala naman sigurong masama,” she said.
After watching Alden’s hit movie, she said that she felt proud of the actor on his achievement with Kapamilya actress Kathryn.
“I’m proud na parang nakakatuwa na isang kapatid namin na ang ganda ng binigay, nakipagsabayan siya kay Kathryn Bernardo which is ang sabi ko nga, ang ganda ng chemistry nila,” she said.
She is currently seen on TV in the afternoon series Dahil sa Pag-ibig with Benjamin Alves, Winwyn Marquez, and Pancho Magno.
Sanya is also doing an upcoming movie with veteran actress Nora Aunor titled Isa Pang Bahaghari. The film will be included in the 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival. According to the actress, she is grateful for being chosen to play the daughter of the multi-awarded star.
“Nakakakaba naman talaga pero I feel grateful to be a part of that movie kasi siguro lahat ng artista gustong makatrabaho si Miss Nora so parang hindi ko talaga ineexpect yung nangyari na ako yung napili bilang isa sa mga anak niya,” she said.
Under the direction of Joel Lamangan, the film’s cast also includes Maris Racal, Albie Casino, Zanjoe Marudo, Joseph Marco, and Phillip Salvador among others.
Cross networks collaborations are currently a trend in the country’s showbiz industry. Apart from Alden and Kathryn, several Kapuso and Kapamilya stars already joined the trend including the movie tandems of Dingdong Dantes and Anne Curtis for Sid and Aya: Not a Love Story (2018), Maine Mendoza and Coco Martin for Jack EM Popoy: The Puliscredibles (2018) and Maine with Carlo Aquino for the upcoming Black Sheep movie Isa Pa With Feelings.
