Kapamilya singer Morissette Amon is currently involved in a controversy due to a family conflict. She became a subject of speculations when her father Amay Amon ranted online. Amay claimed that the singer left their family to supposedly live in with her boyfriend Dave Lamar.
The two were both contestants of The Voice of The Philippines Season 1 in 2013. Though it was not confirmed, there have been rumors that they are dating.

Amay also expressed his disapproval of Dave for using Morissette’s fame and for putting their family in disarray.

Amay said that Dave allegedly attacked him using a fake Twitter account. But on June 22, Dave denied this and said he has only has one Twitter account.
Morissette’s father gained support from the online community as well as criticisms for publicizing their family problems.
In the midst of the issues, Paolo Valenciano asked Morissette’s dad to keep their family matters private.

Days after the allegations broke out, a report revealed that Morissette was actually staying at the house of Audie Gemora in an exclusive village since March 2019 in contrast to Amay’s claims.
Audie is the President of the Stages, a talent management company that co-manages the singing career of Morissette.
It is said that Morissette left home due to the alleged physical abuse by her father and due to her father’s opposition to her boyfriend Dave. Amay allegedly slapped Morissette according to the reports.
In another tweet last March 18, Amay revealed he was also frustrated when Morissette discontinued the construction of their new house.
“So the bank informed us that David’s uncle asked to stop HER construction. Looks to me suggesting breach of contract, penalties, fees, and most of all, bad bank record. OK lang sana kung hindi SiYa or HER name ang mag suffer. These are the people who guides her now btw…” Amay wrote.
The source also said that Morissette shared her “PHP20 million to PHP30 million” savings before leaving their home proving that she’s still concerned for her parents despite the conflict.
The singer was also supportive of the endeavors of her dad like his motocross racing. The family enjoyed travels too whenever Morissette had shows abroad.
Despite being surrounded by controversies, the Kapamilya singer chose to remain silent. However, her recent Instagram posts may be a clue to what she thinks about the matter.
“Let go, and let God,” Morissette posted.
In the comment section, her alleged boyfriend Dave Lamar expressed his encouragement for her by saying: “He’s got our backs!”
Morissette recently flew to Canada for the One Kapamilya Go show presented for the OFWs last August 8, Saturday.
It was in 2010 when Morissette and her family left Cebu to find their luck in Manila. She then joined the Artista Search, a reality show on TV5 and was hailed as the first runner-up while Eula Caballero won as the grand winner.
She gained prominence in the music scene after joining ABS-CBN’s The Voice of The Philippines Season 1 last 2013, under the team of Coach Sarah Geronimo.
In 2014, Amay reunited with the family in Manila after resigning as a call center agent. It was said that Morissette’s mom was the one who supported her career as a singer all throughout.
