Maine Mendoza is looking forward to her two movies for the last quarter of 2019.
During the renewal of contract for her endorsement for Mundipharma’s Betadine Fresh Bliss on Thursday (August 1) afternoon, Mendoza admitted that she can’t give any update on her music plans right now since she’s busy doing two movies plus her daily Eat Bulaga hosting duties and their weekly sitcom Daddy’s Gurl taping.
“‘Yung about music, well, medyo nagiging busy kasi ngayon dahil nga dun sa movie with Carlo (Aquino) at meron ding upcoming movie with Bossing (Vic Sotto) tapos ‘yung sitcom Daddy’s Gurl at Eat Bulaga every day. So, naghahanap lang kami ng time para makapagrecord ng mga iba pang music para marelease na rin ‘yung album ko. Pero sa ngayon, medyo focus kami sa dalawang movies kasi magsastart na siya this month, parehong movies.”
Mendoza is the latest Kapuso artist to cross over to rival ABS-CBN to do a movie with Kamilya actor Carlo Aquino. Directed by Prime Cruz, Isa Pa With Feelings is about two broken people who will meet each other. It will be a collaboration between APT Entertainment and Black Sheep.
“Sobrang excited naman talaga ako na gawin ‘yung movie lalo nang mabalitaan ko na with Carlo pa siya and actually, bukas magsastart na kami. Wala pa kaming target release date pero excited na rin ako kasi to work with new people. ‘Di ba exciting ‘yun na lumalawak ang mundo mo sa showbiz?”
Meanwhile, her movie Mission Unstapabol: The Don Identity with Vic Sotto was also chosen as one first four entries to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival competition. It will be directed by Linnet Zurbano.

When asked to comment on Alden Richards’ successful tandem with Kathryn Bernardo, Mendoza answered, “Honestly ako, ang nasa utak ko ngayon, sa gagawin naming pelikula, wala sa akin kung (ako kasi ito as an actress, hindi as a producer), main focus ko lang ngayon ay makagawa ng magandang pelikula. Hindi ko iniisip kasi never namang naging big deal sa akin ‘yung kikitain ng pelikula or kung saan mapupunta ang pelikula. Pero ako ang gusto ko lang, gusto kong maging sure na makagawa kami lahat ng pelikula na magiging proud kami dahil maganda, dahil nagawa namin ang istorya, ang lahat, ang executions.”
Richards is the other half of the phenomenal love team AlDub with Maine Mendoza.

Though she has yet to see the movie, Mendoza said, “Congratulations sa kanila ni Kathryn (Bernardo)! Second day ngayon so ang message ko sa kay Alden at sa lahat ng manonood, panoorin ninyo po. Maganda ‘yung pelikula.”
