- Coco Martin and Yassi Pressman’s wedding photo was supposedly used in a Magpakailanman episode
- Kapamilya fans slam Magpakailanman for using Cardo and Alyanna’s wedding photos without permission
It was a big issue last year when FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano used the wedding photo of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera photoshopped with other actors’ faces.
Dingdong Dantes even called out the show, making the producers of the Kapamilya primetime series apologize to Kapuso Primetime King for using altered photos of him and his family in their episodes.
Last year, Dingdong Dantes forwarded a letter to the management of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano to express his “dismay and deep concern” of what happened. “Courtesy and fair practice must always be observed especially in an established industry like ours,” Dantes stated. “But whether or not it is done within the entertainment sector, we should always be reminded of the basic etiquette for online photo use and sharing that includes asking permission and/or citing sources. I do hope that this won’t happen again to anyone.”
And a year after this big issue, GMA Network drama anthology Magpakailanman is being called out by Kapamilya fans for the show’s alleged use and editing of Coco Martin and Yassi Pressman’s wedding photo from FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
Netizens called out the show for “unethically” using FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano wedding photo in an episode last Saturday (August 3). Most likely Magpakailanman didn’t get any permission from the show since it’s on ABS-CBN.
The television show supposedly used a photo of the family taken during Cardo and Alyanna’s wedding, but editing Coco and Yassi’s faces and replacing these with the faces of Neil Ryan Sese and Carla Abellana. It was a very iconic photo especially from a show that’s been running for more than three years and still the most-watched show nationwide.
The Cardo and Alyanna wedding episode aired on May 19, 2017, and garnered a national TV rating of 36.6%, compared to the finale episode of GMA Network’s Encantadia, which only got 27%, according to Kantar Media.
The team of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano and of Magpakailanman haveyet to comment or issue an official statement on the matter as of this writing.
