- Anne Curtis and Marco Gumabao heat up the screen in Just a Stranger
With a cast led by two of Viva Artists Agency’s hottest stars, it’s not surprising that Just A Stranger smashed the box office, raking in over Php12.5 million on its opening day alone.
According to Viva Films, the movie, which stars Marco Gumabao and Anne Curtis, earned a total of PhP12.5 million when it opened on August 21.
“Sulit na sulit ang holiday kasama sina Mae at Jekjek! Maraming salamat sa inyong mainit na pagtanggap at pagsuporta sa #JustAStranger! Sa mga hindi pa nakakanood, huwag nang magpahuli! Nood na sa paboritong sinehan!”
Stars Marco and Anne immediately took to Twitter to thank people for supporting their movie.
“I know. This. Is why I was nervous. Huhu. Thank you, everybody! Sending out so many Big Hugs of Love!!!!,” said Anne.

The movie is now screening in over 200 cinemas nationwide.
Just A Stranger is a film that tells the story of two romantically-committed strangers who meet in Portugal and start an affair with each other. It has been called “daring” because of its trailer featuring Anne doing intimate scenes with Marco, who admitted that it was his first time to enact such scenes onscreen.

Directed by Jason Paul Laxamana, this isn’t Anne and Marco’s first team-up. In 2013, they worked on a TV series called Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw and in 2018 when they both starred on the film Aurora.
