Barretto matriarch Inday Barretto wasn’t able to contain her silence and blasted netizens who kept on bashing granddaughter Julia.
The 83-year-old female head of the Barretto family took to social media to defend her granddaughter from all the malicious tweets and accusations against her.
Inday slammed netizens through numerous replies to Mario Dumaual’s post on Instagram.
In one of her comments, she described her family as intelligent and articulate, and that they don’t need to flirt just to attract someone.
“The members of my Family thanks to God Are: Beautiful, Well-bred, Well Groomed, Intelligent and articulate,Also- friendly and amiable which draw people to them (to mention a few) Do You Honestly Think , they Even Have To FLIRT Pa with What Humans Seek/ What- nagbubuhat ako ng BANKO?”
In another comment in reply to @Paulchristian102, Inday said that she can’t take attacks on Julia sitting down, thus she was defending her all out on social media.

The Barretto matriarch also stressed that she has no business with the Bea and Gerald breakup because she believes that it is a matter that should be just between the two. Dragging Julia into the picture is what made her agitated enough to finally speak up.

But after spewing fire on the netizens bashing her granddaughter, Inday clarified that she has nothing against Bea. She said that she met Bea at the wake of her elder sister and finds her lovable.

The Gerald-Bea-Julia controversy has been going around entertainment circles for several weeks now. It started when Bea made a cryptic post on Instagram regarding cheating. It was followed by Bea liking posts about the alleged “date” of Gerald and Julia which further fanned the flames of speculation about the status on their relationship and the reasons behind it.
In one of her interviews, Bea said that there was no formal breakup between her and Gerald, the latter just started not talking to her.
“Honestly, to my understanding, we did not break up. He just started not talking to me,” said Bea.
Meanwhile, although the controversy has yet to die down, Bea said that she is moving on.
In an interview during the cast presentation of her latest teleserye, Alonzo said that she was raised by ABS-CBN to be a professional.
“I’m moving forward…Pinalaki ako ng ABS-CBN na professional, and we always have to show up regardless of what’s happening in my life,” she said
Also, according to Bea’s handler, Monch Novales, the actress is using writing as an instrument to let out her feelings and to let go and move on. Bea is currently participating in the scriptwriting workshop of Ricky Lee.
