Kadenang Ginto has been on air since October 8, 2018. The Kapamilya series was first pitted against The Stepdaughters starring Megan Young and Mikael Daez. It was a close fight at the start with Kadenang Ginto winning with 13.8% ratings in its pilot episode versus 12.6% of GMA Network’s The Stepdaughters according to NUTAM while in Kantar Media, Kadenang Ginto hit 16.2% and rival Kapuso series with only 11.4%.
‘Inagaw Na Bituin’ tried to beat ‘Kadenang Ginto’ and it succeeded on its first day (February 11, 2019) in NUTAM data only with 6.1% while the Kapamilya afternoon series got 6.0. Kantar Media data on that same day showed Kadenang Ginto was still the leader of its timeslot with 19.0% while Inagaw Na Bituin only got 12.1%. During its battle with Inagaw Na Bituin, the Kapamilya teleserye began hitting the internet with memes and their ratings even soared higher in Kantar Media and NUTAM. In the middle of its run, GMA Network management decided to move Inagaw Na Bituin to the next timeslot as Bihag (April 1) took over its old timeslot.
Bihag‘s pilot’s rating on April 1, 2019 on NUTAM was not released though Kantar Media rating shows Bihag getting only 11.1% while Kadenang Ginto hit 24.6%. This was the time ABS-CBN announced the show’s extension until 2020 as its ratings became phenomenal. Its third season teaser also made waves on the internet which had people photoshopping Daniela (Dimples Romana) everywhere. Even the Kapuso actress Jennylyn Mercado proudly shared that she was watching this hit Kapamilya teleserye.
Bihag ended its run last August 16, 2019 (Friday) with 7.2% and Kadenang Ginto with 10.0% in NUTAM. Kadenang Ginto stayed on top with 21.0% while Bihag only got 15.7% on its finale on Kantar Media.
