Gerald Anderson has confirmed talking to Julia Barretto’s father Dennis Padilla.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News’ Ganiel Krishnan, Anderson admitted he had spoken with Dennis Padilla, the father of Julia who is being tagged as the third party to his breakup with Bea Alonzo.
“Si Sir Dennis, tumawag siya sa akin,” he said.
“Of course, he called me. I answered the phone. We had a good conversation. Tumawag siya kasi isa siyang concerned father. Anak niya ‘yun, e. Anak niya ‘yun…Siyempre, alam natin na grabe rin ‘yung bashing sa side nila. No one deserves that… We had a good conversation,” Anderson added.
Even before the interview with ABS-CBN News, Pep.ph’s Jojo Gabinete had already reported on the conversation between Gerald and Dennis.
In his July 23 article, Gabinete wrote that his source confirmed that Dennis has called Gerald to ask about the controversy involving his daughter. During the conversation, Gerald admitted that he was indeed courting Julia but she was not the reason for his breakup with Bea.
After Gerald’s statements to media, Julia also broke her silence regarding the issue. On Tuesday, August 6, Julia took to Instagram to answer point-by-point all the accusations hurled against her.
First, she addressed cheating issue saying she did not cheat on Joshua and that she was not the reason for Gerald and Bea’s breakup.
“I was attacked for two issues: 1. I cheated on my boyfriend. 2. I was the cause of another relationship’s breakup. Let’s be clear: Josh and I had broken up four months ago. We have publicly admitted it together and we have cleared that there was no third party involved. From now on, anything I do in my private and love life is not considered as cheating and is none of anyone’s business.
“Secondly, I believe Gerald has already made it clear that a third party was not the cause of their breakup. I would like to disassociate myself from the breakup of Bea and Gerald. Their issues are entirely their own. However, since I was brought into this mess without a choice, this is what I have to say. Your heartbreak should have been a private matter, but you have selfishly turned it into something of national concern.”
She also hit Bea for allegedly bullying her.
“Bea, you wanted to keep your hands clean by not mentioning me in your controversial post, but with a click of your finger, in your sly way, you have charged everybody to destroy me for you. You have encouraged a culture of hate by purposely liking harmless photos, putting malice into the minds of many, which resulted in the outrage of insults against me. You are a woman of great influence and following. You could have used that power to promote strength and grace in women, but instead, you’ve used that to promote social media irresponsibility. That is downright bullying. You can play victim all you want, but I refuse to be your victim.”
However, with all the statements that she issued, Julia still didn’t address the real score between her and Gerald Anderson.
