- James Reid received an offensive tweet from a Kumu employee
- He recently guested in the live stream show of the Kumu app
- KC Montero promised fans that he will take appropriate actions for the employee
Kapamilya actor James Reid, together with the Careless Music Crew, were guests on the That Lyric Show, which is streamed live on the Kumu app, last August 19, Monday.
However, fans were angered when a Kumu employee tweeted about James, saying, “Si James Reid amoy tae.”
In reply to the sudden uproar on social media, Kumu Vice President KC Montero promised fans that the company will take appropriate action for the rude behavior of the employee.
KC wrote: “It has been brought to our attention that one of our staff members made an inappropriate tweet that is in no way a reflection of what Kumu thinks or stands for. Please know that the situation is being handled and appropriate measures are being taken.”

In his defense, KC explained that the remark was not what it seemed and urged fans to listen to Magic899 to find out what happened.
“Listen tomorrow on @Magic899 at 7 am. Listen for yourselves what happened,” KC said.
“Well, we can’t always police everyone. So we’re just as surprised as you are. Thank you for bringing it to our attention and we [hope] it doesn’t damage your thoughts about Kumu. We really are just a place to have fun,” he added.
According to him, James might have “stepped on poop” while on his way to the taping of the show.
Yesterday was taped. He only came to the studio 1x. So yes he stepped in it only once.

While netizens are throwing criticisms against the company, KC assured fans that the employee will face consequences.
One user wrote: “Ok thank you for the reply. Still he shouldn’t have tweeted that and put that in his IGS, nakakabastos kasi, so unprofessional. Di lahat nakukuha Sa Mga joke. Thanks again”
“Of course he shouldn’t and he will have to deal with the consequences,” KC wrote in response to the netizen.
The employee might suffer consequences from his violation of the company’s policies as he spread offensive remarks about the actor in social media.
James was last seen on the recently concluded show Idol Philippines as one of its panel of judges.
He left Viva talent agency after seven years reportedly due to burn out. He is currently a freelancer.
