Erika Chryselle Gonzales Gancayco, better known as Erich Gonzales on screen, is one of the most versatile actresses in this generation. Her career began when she won as Grand Questor in the second season of the reality talent search Star Circle Quest of ABS-CBN network in 2005. Erich has taken on various roles in television dramas and on the big screen. She loves to challenge herself with different characters in her projects.
In 2018, she was nominated again for Best Actress at the 43rd Metro Manila Film Festival for the movie Siargao.
This year, Erich was supposed to have her comeback teleserye together with reel-to-real life sweethearts Kim Chiu and Xian Lim. But, three months after the official announcement of the upcoming drama series Love Thy Woman, Erich decided to withdraw from the project.
According to Jun Lalin of Pilipino Star Ngayon, he heard that Erich will be penalized by the ABS-CBN Management due to her resignation from the upcoming primetime series. The amount was not disclosed but accordingly, it is quite costly.
“Sabi ng source ko, pagmumultahin daw ng ABS-CBN management si Erich Gonzales dahil sa pagre-resign ng aktres sa teleseryeng Love Thy Woman na balik-tambalan ng KimXi love team ng reel & real life sweethearts na sina Kim Chiu at Xian Lim. Marami na kasing nakunang mga eksena na kasama si Erich at kailangang i-reshoot ‘yon. Nalula ako sa presyong kailangan daw bayaran ni Erich,” Lalin wrote in his column.
Meanwhile, the official Instagram account of Dreamscape explained that Erich’s resignation in ‘Love Thy Woman’ is due to “creative differences.”

The teleserye had already started taping and there were several scenes taken together with Erich that need to be reshot.
Thirty-one-year-old Yam Concepcion was introduced by Dreamscape as the replacement for Erich in the upcoming drama series highlighting Filipino-Chinese families.
Kim and Yam are now in New Jersey, USA for a show. They will start taping soon when the two stars will get back to the Philippines.
Together with Kim, Xian, and Yam, Love Thy Woman‘s cast includes Eula Valdez, Christopher de Leon, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Sunshine Cruz, Ruffa Gutierrez, and Jennifer Sevilla.
