- Elisse Joson, Ejay Falcon, and Aljur Abrenica are set to appear together in a new television series
- ABS-CBN’s current franchise is set to expire on March 30, 2020
- ABS-CBN will have to convince the 18th Congress to pass its franchise renewal into law
Ejay Falcon couldn’t hide his excitement over his upcoming action-drama series Sandugo with Aljur Abrenica and Elisse Joson. Soon to air on ABS-CBN, there is no set date yet as to when Sandugo will make its premiere.
In an interview, Falcon shared that he is thankful for the new project that the Kapamilya Network has offered to him. He also revealed that the series will be action-packed, so he wants to give his best to give justice to his role.
Meanwhile, the actor was also asked about his stand regarding the possible shutdown of ABS-CBN if the network’s franchise is not renewed.
Did it ever cross his mind to transfer to another network especially now that his home network is in a problematic state?
“Wala eh. Two years contract pa po ako, kaka-sign ko lang. So, hindi ko malagay sa isip ko. And yung project ko maganda eh,” he said.
The Kapamilya actor is grateful for his new project especially that he was chosen to take the lead role. Actually, Sandugo is his comeback teleserye after his last lead television series The Promise of Forever in 2017.
In the said series, Falcon will be working with Jessy Mendiola and Elisse Joson. Because of this, the actor was asked if he is the type of person who easily falls for his leading lady.
Truthfully, the actor answered, “Siguro pag wala akong girlfriend, posible. kasi lagi mong kasama eh.

He also cited ways on how to keep the fire burning between you and your partner so as to avoid temptation.
So dapat hindi mawala yun. And yung trust [di dapat mawala,]” the actor shared.
Moreover, the actor believes that it’s not always the man’s fault if someone cheats, saying it’s a “two-way” mistake: “walang malandi, kung walang nagpapalandi.”
As the interview went on, Falcon was asked what he would do if his friend becomes a victim of a cheating boyfriend who has a forbidden affair with another woman.
Not taking sides, Falcon said that he will be there to comfort his friend but not to get involved and meddle with their issues.
As for ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal, Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) Secretary Lito Yabut previously explained that it’s impossible to close ABS-CBN just because of an expired franchise.
As the 18th Congress opened on July 22, the bill for franchise renewal of the Kapamilya Network was refiled. Under the aforementioned bill, ABS-CBN seeks to operate for another 25 years.
Senator Bong Revilla Jr. has said that there’s nothing to worry about the franchise renewal as long as the network did not commit any violations.
President Rodrigo Duterte had been very vocal about not letting ABS-CBN renew their franchise after “sabotaging” his campaign and not releasing his advertisements and instead airing a negative ad against him during the 2016 Presidential Election.
For now, the bill is currently with Congress.
