- Kris Aquino asked her friend and columnist Lolit Solis to negotiate an afternoon series for her on GMA Network
- Her supposed comeback movie K(ampon) will not push through as per the decision of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Board
- Kris is known for her hosting skills and frankness
Influential Filipino actress, product endorser, businesswoman, and TV host Kris Aquino recently asked showbiz columnist Lolit Solis to negotiate a TV series for her on the GMA Network.
This, after her supposed comeback Metro Manila Film Festival entry K(ampon) was canceled due to unexpected changes in the leading man.
Aside from coming from a prominent political family, Kris Aquino is popular for her frankness and wit. She hosted several talk shows including Kris, Game KNB, The Buzz, Deal or No Deal, and Kris TV. Aside from this, the actress also appeared in several films like Pido Dida: Sabay Tayo, Feng Shui, Sukob, and Sisterakas. She was also in the 2018 Hollywood film Crazy Rich Asians where she portrayed the character of Princess Intan.
However, due to her poor health caused by a rare autoimmune disease, the Queen of All Media decided to take a break from the limelight to focus on her family and on her recovery.
After a few months, it seems like the actress is getting back into showbiz especially that she was tapped to headline (K)ampon, an MMFF 2019 entry, alongside Derek Ramsay. However, the actor withdrew from the movie to focus on his projects with GMA Network.
Quantum Films, the producers of the movie, picked Gabby Concepcion to replace Derek. Unfortunately, the MMFF committee disapproved their request to change the actor since they filed it five days after the deadline. Because of this, Kris’ supposed comeback horror movie will not be pushing through anymore.
On Instagram, the actress poured out her sentiments and disappointment regarding her disqualified MMFF movie. One of her close friends, Lolit Solis, also aired her reaction regarding the disqualification.

Kris replied to the post assuring people that she’s fine. She also shared her escapade plan with her kids in Boracay and asked Lolit to negotiate with GMA Network to give her a TV series project.
She replied: “Chill na chill ako Nay. Life is good, Aug 20 i’ll take the kids on a beach break para hindi ko na lang maisip ang 1st shooting day… sayang lang yung 4.4 million views na on FB nung pag visit kay gabby. Maybe kagaya ng pag negotiate mo for me ng Star Talk before, you can negotiate w/ @gmanetwork a teleserye, same slot as ika-6 na utos na super sinubaybayan namin?“
In 2016, the “Queen of All Media” decided to leave ABS-CBN, her home network of 20 years. Many of her supporters had thought that she was transferring to GMA Network, but there was no formal contract signing that happened. Even so, the actress still tried her luck to become part of her former home network’s rival. Unfortunately, it seems like the doors of GMA Network are not open for Kris.
After almost a year-long hiatus, Kris took a chance on making digital projects in collaboration with Tony Tuviera’s APT Entertainment.
Trip Ni Kris marked her comeback to hosting on GMA Network. The show, which was released on April 9, 2017, did not last long due to her strained relationship with her show’s producer, Rhodora Morales.
She also approached TAPE Inc. for possible projects that they could offer her. Even after a meeting to discuss prospects, none of the projects pushed through.
Aside from TAPE Inc., Kris also approached Wowowin host and producer Willie Revillame. In past reports, there were talks about the two hosts working on a game show together. Willie also revealed that he was willing to help his friend to make a comeback on TV. However, until now, no TV projects for Kris have come up.
Just recently, her supposed MMFF comeback horror film K(ampon) was canceled due to a late change in cast which was not allowed by the committee.
Now that she has asked for Lolit Solis’ help, will she finally land a good show on GMA Network?
