Kapuso actor Derrick Monasterio thanked the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for supporting the upcoming drama series of GMA Network, Beautiful Justice.
This, after PDEA partnered with the production team of the aforementioned series to make the story more “true-to-life.”
PDEA is an anti-drug law enforcement agency which is responsible for combating and eliminating illicit drugs in the country.
On August 9, Monasterio and his co-stars Bea Binene, Yasmien Kurdi, Valeen Montenegro, Victor Neri, and Bing Loyzaga visited the PDEA office where they met the chief of the Public Information Office, Director Derrick Arnold Carreon.
In an exclusive interview with GMA reporters, the Kapuso hunk expressed his gratitude to the whole agency for their help and for sharing their ideas and knowledge to make the story of the soap more appealing.
He stated, “That’s very important, to have the support of the PDEA.
“Talagang for us, it’s already a successful show kasi ito ang first show na may partnership with PDEA and talagang hands-on sila,” he added.
“I mean, nandito kami ngayon and talagang binabasa nila yung script, ganun ka-intense.
“So for us, we are very honored and thankful kasi this is a big branch of the government and talagang highly-respectable people.”
Aside from PDEA, the 24-year old actor also praised the production team of Beautiful Justice for their scrupulous attention to details in the primetime series.
He said, “Yung taping namin ngayon nakakatuwa, inaayos talaga nila lahat and very meticulous sila sa detail.
“The technical team tinutukan at kailangan detalyong-detalyado tsaka pinapaganda talaga nila so nakakatuwa,” he added.
Beautiful Justice is an action-drama series headlined by the fresh team-up of Derrick Monasterio and Gabbi Garcia. Other cast members include Bea Binene, Yasmien Kurdi, Valeen Montenegro, Bing Loyzaga, and Victor Neri.
Since it’s an action-packed drama series, the cast of Beautiful Justice have undergone intense training in guns and combat. As of this writing, the target premiere date for the series has not yet been revealed.
Going further, it seems like getting support from the government is the current trend among TV shows.
Aside from Beautiful Justice, other Kapuso shows have partnered with the government for the same reason: “to make the story true-to-life and to become more appealing to the televiewers.”
First in line is the upcoming remake of the hit Korean drama Descendants of The Sun top-billed by the Primetime King, Dingdong Dantes.
Since Dantes’ role is a military soldier, the production team partnered with Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Another is Alden Richards’ new drama series The Gift which sought the assistance of Manila City Hall. In this series, Richards will play a character who has a “third eye” and the story will take place in Divisoria.
