ABS-CBN’s the top-rating teleserye The General’s Daughter starring actress Angel Locsin is now airing in Myanmar. In Umagang Kay Ganda on Tuesday, August 13, host Amy Perez reported that the show was acquired by Sky Net International Drama Channel for airing in Myanmar, which subtitled it in Burmese. The Kapamilya series premiered last August 4.
The show which started last January 21 locally, has been airing for almost seven months now and still winning the ratings game in both NUTAM and Kantar Media. Latest ratings show (August 12, Monday) The General’s Daughter winning with a very huge advantage versus its The Better Woman. The General’s Daughter scored 33.7% versus The Better Woman‘s 16.0% in Kantar Media while in NUTAM, the Kapamilya show hit 14.0% while its rival show only got 8.2%.
In The General’s Daughter, Rhian (Angel Locsin), Marcial (Albert Martinez), and Franco (Paulo Avelino) watch over Jessie (Ryza Cenon) and Ethan’s (JC de Vera) wedding to protect their family against any threat. Unbeknownst to them, both Tiago’s (Tirso Cruz III) minions and the authorities are headed to the same venue with the goal of apprehending the trio. Soon, Rhian stumbles upon crucial information concerning the lives of her loved ones. Meanwhile, Franco clashes with Tiago’s minions.
Directed by Manny Palo and Mervyn Brondial, the series also stars Eula Valdez, Ronnie Alonte, Loisa Andalio, Arjo Atayde, and Maricel Soriano, who also makes a return to television.
