- ‘Upfront’ premieres this Sunday
ABS-CBN S+A’s award-winning lifestyle program “UPFRONT” is back and better than ever as hosts Janeena Chan, Turs Daza, Angelique Manto and Martin Javier go beyond the UAAP and NCAA to feature more athletes, more leagues, and explore new spots and fun activities in the metro starting this Sunday (August 4) at 1:30 pm.
This season, viewers can expect to see the fun side of sports plus lifestyle with new segments, fresh features, and guests hosts from other sports and tournaments such as Premier Volleyball League (PVL) and the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).
Moreover, former Ateneo Lady Eagle and Choco Mucho Flying Titans star Bea De Leon will be joining the original squad in getting to know more about our favorite players as they take on new challenges off court as the program’s new special segment host.
For this Sunday’s premiere, viewers will get to know more about the Ateneo Lady Eagles’ bubbly but fierce spiker Pauline Gaston.
“Ponggay,” as she is fondly called by her teammates and fans, will take a tour of the Lakbay Museo with Angelique and Martin.
Meanwhile, the San Beda Red Lions and the Lyceum Philippines University Pirates face off in the “Challenge Accepted” segment featuring traditional Filipino games likes Luksong Baka and Tumbang Preso.
Lastly, for “Squad Goals,” new UPFRONT special segment host Bea will to go through a Lagree Fitness session with former De La Salle University Green Archer, and now MPBL rookie, Joshua Torralba.
The high-intensity, low-impact muscular endurance workout is the new fitness fad that everyone has been trying and the former Queen Eagle is raring to give it a go in her debut.
“UPFRONT” debuted in 2015 as pre-game and halftime show in UAAP Season 78, which was hosted by the University of the Philippines.
With positive reviews and its success in engaging the fans, it was extended to the next UAAP seasons and even launched a special NCAA edition in 2018.
Last year, it also received the prestigious Anak TV Seal award.
The Anak TV Seal is a national award voted on by parents, educators, business and media professionals, government, media, NGOs, the religious sector, and youth to be given to child-sensitive programs airing on Philippine television.
Don’t miss return of UPFRONT on S+A and S+A HD this Sunday (August 4) at 1:30 pm with hosts Janeena Chan, Turs Daza, Angelique Manto, Martin Javier, and new segment host Bea De Leon.
