Maja Salvador’s comeback project on TV was warmly welcomed by viewers. The pilot episode of The Killer Bride won in TV ratings on both NUTAM and Kantar Media.
The show was also a hit on Twitter as its official hashtag #TheKillerBrideFirstDance topped the list of trending topics.
The Killer Bride marks lead actress Maja’s return to primetime television after the massive success of Wildflower, which drew her acclaim for her portrayal of the vengeful Lily Cruz. Set in the fictional town of Las Espadas, the pilot episode introduced the feuding Dela Cuesta and Dela Torre clans. The decades-long conflict, tracing back to the rape of a Dela Torre woman at the hands of a Dela Cuesta man, manifests in present-day business rivalry, and, in Camila’s case, a forbidden romance. Secretly in a relationship with Vito Dela Cuesta (Geoff Eigenmann), a pregnant Camila is torn between her loyalty to her grandfather, Jacobo (Eddie Gutierrez), and her own future family.
It was a big success especially for a production unit that’s just starting. The Killer Bride is the very first TV project of RCD Narratives, a new ABS-CBN production unit under its business unit head Roda C. Dela Cerna.
