- Unfortunately, the two stars seemed to have trouble working on the film
- Derek has a tight schedule taping The Better Woman series
Kris Aquino is set to make her Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) comeback this 2019 with the horror movie K(Ampon).
She was once considered the Philippine cinema’s Horror Queen because of her involvement in successful horror films like Feng Shui, Sukob, Dalaw, and Segunda Mano.
The movie by Quantum Films will also star Derek Ramsay under the direction of King Palisoc.
The horror film leads the first four official entries for MMFF 2019 however Derek and Kris seem to have some trouble working on the film.
Derek is currently has a schedule conflict with his primetime series The Better Woman and it might lead to him backing out from the film.
Derek and co-star Andrea Torres usually have their taping for the drama series in the far-flung province of Laiya, Batangas. According to a GMA Network insider, it takes four to five hours before Derek can reach the said location and after that, he needs four hours to drive himself home.
The deadline of submission for the official entries of Metro Manila Film Festival 2019 is getting nearer but Derek is still busy with his regional promo tour with The Better Woman co-star Andrea.
The Better Woman was supposed to air in September 2019 but it was rushed to replace the shelved action series Rosang Agimat.
Derek displayed great eagerness to portray his role in the upcoming horror flick with Kris but at the same time, the actor does not want to set aside his commitment to GMA Network.
Meanwhile, Kris is hesitant about the film because of her belief that she should not work during the month of August, the Chinese ghost month. The Ghost Festival is on August 15 while Ghost month is from August 1 to 29.
Her last appearance in an MMFF movie was back in 2015 in All You Need Is Pag-Ibig (formerly entitled Mr. and Mrs. Split), her first movie with Derek.
Derek had his last MMFF movie in the 2017 romcom film All of You with Jennylyn Mercado.
