- Joross Gamboa reveals Kathryn Bernardo’s struggles for Hello, Love, Goodbye
- Hello, Love, Goodbye is Alden Richards’ first movie under Star Cinema
- The movie is one of the last few of Cathy Garcia-Molina before her retirement
Star Cinema’s Hello, Love, Goodbye under director Cathy Garcia-Molina is definitely Kathryn Bernardo’s hardest project to date. Aside from being her first movie shoot outside the country without Daniel Padilla her partner since 2012, she was forbidden to use a cellphone and talk to her co-stars for a month during the movie shoot’s duration.
Her co-star Joross Gamboa revealed during the movie’s grand press conference what director Cathy Garcia-Molina did to help Kathryn portray her character as an Overseas Filipino worker (OFW). The Box Office director wanted her lead stars to go out of their comfort zones to perfectly execute the characters she wanted and they did it well.

This is the reason why Kathryn called her first scene with Alden Richards “weird” in Hong Kong. Although it was their first time working together, Alden said Kathryn helped him get through their first scene.
Director Cathy, meanwhile, said that she intentionally planned to make them do a heavy first scene together to see what they’ve got as a pair.
“Sinadya ko na ang first scene would be the first scene also together in the movie,” Direk Cathy said. “Kasi nga di ba hindi ko alam paano sila together on screen, I have never seen them together on screen except nung storycon at ang ating look test. So I would see kung anong meron sila, so kung anong mapapanuod niyo ‘yon po ang meron sila,” she added.
With Alden and Kathryn are Lovely Abella, Joross Gamboa, Kakai Bautista, Maymay Entrata, Jameson Blake and Jefferey Tam, Hello, Love, Goodbye opens in cinemas on July 31.
