Union Bank of the Philippines (UnionBank) won three awards at the 16th Awards Ceremony and Appreciation Lunch for Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas stakeholders held last Wednesday at the BSP Complex in Manila.
The Bank won the Top PESONet volume contributor award, as well as the outstanding partner for digital excellence and outstanding partner for digital transformation for universal and commercial banks awards.
UnionBank was awarded Top PESONet volume contributor among PESONet participants promoting the realization of the 20% electronic payments by 2020 vision under the National Retail Payment System (NRPS) project.
Meanwhile, the Bank was honored as outstanding partner for digital excellence for leading the digital reform in the delivery of financial services; for leveraging on innovative technologies to optimize and augment existing operations and embarking on digital transformative shifts geared toward customer needs; for incorporating a holistic cybersecurity approach on its digital transformation strategies, and spearheading cybersecurity reforms not only within the institution but across other industry sectors; and for driving the progressive adoption of digital payments through active participation in the NRPS initiative.
UnionBank was also awarded as outstanding partner for digital transformation (universal/commercial banks) for adopting a transformation strategy that seeks to improve process efficiency, cut operational costs and redefine the customer banking experience; for delivering a suite of innovative technologies without compromising the security requirements; and for aiming to redefine the customer experience in banking through continuous research on emerging technologies and the evolving customer behavior and needs.
