Two Bulacan high schools have been the recipient of RIDGID’s wet and dry vacuum cleaners.
Last July 24, 2019, RIDGID held a cleanup drive program—which is part of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiative—at two of Bulacan’s high schools: San Miguel-Meysulao High School in Calumpit and AFG Bernardino Memorial School in Marilao.
RIDGID distributed 60L Wet/Dry vacuum with detachable blowers to the said schools to help them quickly regain all the lost spaces inside the campus due to flooding.
RIDGID or the Ridge Tool Company is a subsidiary of Emerson Electric, a 96-year old US company best known for its distinctive red pipe wrenches and manufacturing over 300 different types of tools used in plumbing, pipefitting, and construction. The company is also known for selling power tools and wet and dry vacuums which are the best in class performance with every variant. Best in terms of suction power, and best in terms of ruggedness and durability.
In an interview, Ridgid’s Marketing Supervisor Maria Ivy Santos said that the two schools were chosen because they were identified as the most flood-prone in Bulacan which is a catch basin.
“My colleague, Julius coordinated with someone from DepEd in Bulacan for us to identify which among the Bulacan schools that needed our help the most. It’s our first time to do this and we’re very happy to help these schools,” she said
Meanwhile, Dr. Rosauro A. Villanueva, Principal of AFG Bernardino Memorial Trade School said cleaning their schools after the flood is very challenging and often greatly disrupts the academic calendar that is why they are very grateful for RIDGID for the vacuum cleaners
“We are really grateful to RIDGID who tapped its connections to provide assistance to our school by donating RIDGID’S Wet/Dry vacuum. Community involvement is very important to us. And it made us happy to be the recipient of this powerful professional vacuum which we could use as an aid in our cleaning efforts specifically during floods,” he said.
AFG Bernardino Memorial School headteacher Richard Bagtas also shared how the donated equipment will greatly help them.
“The wet dry vacs will be very helpful in our workshop and lab areas all year round. When it floods, we can use them to speed up cleanup and minimize downtime, but even on regular days, our labs, especially our furniture lab, can get very dusty and dirty due to the type of work we do here,” he said.
To show how powerful RIDGID’s vacuums are in solving their regularly recurring problems and how it can be addressed more quickly, safely, and more easily than ever, RIDGID personnel demonstrated during the turn-over program last Wednesday the water sucking feature of RIDGID’s wet-dry vacuums and showed how several liters of pooled standing water, as well as the dirt and debris floating around in the water, can be easily sucked away in a matter of minutes.
Once filled, the vacuum has a large drain that provides effortless water removal.
Because of the vacuum’s powerful suction, rooms that could once only be swept clean can now be cleaned with soap or disinfectant and water, and then easily rinsed and sucked dry.
Aside from the Wet and Dry Vacuums, RIDGID also distributed rain gear to everyone who attended the program.
RIDGID powerful professional tools are currently available at Ace Hardware, Wilcon Depot, and online shopping stores like Lazada.
