In 2018, ABS-CBN Network teased viewers with the upcoming projects that will air in 2019. Tapping luminaries and hot love teams, these series are truly worth waiting for.
With Mea Culpa: Sino Ang may Sala already on air, here are 9 more teleseryes to come to ABS-CBN:
The Killer Bride
If you are looking for a thrill with a sprinkle of romance and drama, then ABS-CBN proudly offers The Killer Bride starring Maja Salvador, Geoff Eigenmann, Joshua Garcia, and Janella Salvador. The new drama series is targeted to premiere in August. To complete the cast are veteran actors from different generations including Eddie Gutierrez, Aurora Sevilla, Lara Quigaman, Ara Arida, James Blanco, Sam Concepcion, Cris Villanueva, Jobelle Salvador, Dominic Ochoa, Alexa Ilacad, Loren Burgos, Pamu Pamorada, Malou de Guzman, Pepe Herrera, Eric Nicolas, Keanna Reeves, and Neil Coleta.
The aforementioned drama series marks the comeback of Maja Salvador as she takes another teleserye lead role following Wildflower in 2017.
As for their roles, Janella portrays the character of Emma who is believed to be possessed by the ghost of Camilla, the character portrayed by Maja. Joshua, on the other hand, is Elias, the man whose curiosity draws him close to Emma. Geoff’s character is Vito, the love interest of Camilla.
Love Thy Woman
Love Thy Woman marks the comeback teleserye of the KimXi love team. Starring real-life couple Kim Chiu and Xian Lim, sharing top-billing with them is Erich Gonzales. This is the first project together of KimXi and Erich.
With its target release date in August 2019, the story is about a rich man who falls in love with a poor woman, and the challenges that will test their love and faith.
Other cast members include Ruffa Gutierrez, Sunshine Cruz, Christopher De Leon, Eula Valdez, Zsa Zsa Padilla, and Jennifer Sevilla.
Iron Heart
Iron Heart is one of the much-anticipated TV series of ABS-CBN starring Eerie star Bea Alonzo and her leading man in A Love To Last that ended in September 2017, Ian Veneracion. Sharing top-billing with them is Richard Gutierrez who works with Bea for the first time.
Details regarding the upcoming series have not been further disclosed.
Project Kapalaran
After their 2019 film Last Fool Show, Arci Muñoz and JM De Guzman will star in the upcoming romance-comedy series, Project Kapalaran. Part of the main cast are Joey Marquez and Sylvia Sanchez.
With them are Hashtag members Paulo Angeles and Kid Yambao, Maris Racal, Kira Balinger, Mutya Orquia, Raikko Mateo, Irma Adlawan, Kiko Estrada, and Alyssa Muhlach.
This will be the first project of the returning ABS-CBN talent Kiko Estrada and Alyssa Muhlach’s first major role on primetime.
De Guzman had previously hinted that the upcoming series is a family drama with a love story on the side. JM’s character will be in a love triangle with the characters of Muñoz and Muhlach. The official date for release was not yet announced.
Sandugo
Dreamscape Production presents another action-filled teleserye starring two Kapamilya hunks, Aljur Abrenica and Ejay Falcon, with one of the prettiest faces of her generation, Elisse Joson.
Also part of SanDugo are Ariel Rivera, Cogie Domingo, Cherry Pie Picache, Aiko Melendez, Jeric Raval, Arlene Muhlach, and Ogie Diaz.
PBB Otso teen housemates Reign Parani, Ali Abinal and Rhys Eugenio will be making their acting debut in this drama series.
Target release date has not yet revealed.
Take Life
Take Life is another action drama. Starring Kapamilya hunk Gerald Anderson, the story is told from the point of view of military men detailing what they go through. Anderson, together with Elmo Magalona and other cast members of the series were said to have undergone military training and endurance exercise to tone up their physiques for the project. Other artists who are part of the series were still not named.
Anderson’s last TV series was the 2017 drama series, Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin with Kim Chiu, Jake Cuenca, and Coleen Garcia.
Starla
Starla is an upcoming drama series starring the Queen of Soap Operas, Judy Ann Santos opposite Raymart Santiago. This will be her comeback teleserye after almost six years. Her last TV series was Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala in 2013. Former PBB housemate Heaven Peralejo will be part of the series as she will portray as the young version of Santos.
Joining them are Joem Bascon, Kathleen Hermosa, Anna Luna, Meryll Soriano, Gabe Mercado, Simon Ibarra, Bodjie Pascua, Joel Saracho, Janus del Prado, and Joel Torre.
Starla was supposed to be the replacement of Halik. However, it didn’t push through since the latter was extended due to public demand.
According to reports, Starla will replace Coco Martin’s FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. However, it is still not clear when FPJAP will end since it is one of the most viewed television programs in the Philippines today.
Currently, Santiago is part of FPJAP where he plays the character of Police Major Victor Basco, an ally of Cardo Dalisay.
The Faithful Wife
Angelica Panganiban will captivate viewers again as she stars in an upcoming series of ABS-CBN The Faithful Wife under Star Creatives. Details about the upcoming series have not yet been revealed.
Her last drama series was PlayHouse in 2019 opposite Zanjoe Marudo.
LizQuen Series 2019
Despite Liza Soberano’s withdrawal as Darna due to her right index finger injury, her mentor and manager Ogie Diaz cleared that the actress will still be seen on TV in a drama series with her love team partner Enrique Gil (LizQuen).
However, other cast members have yet to be revealed. Further details about the project have yet to be announced.
Soberano recently completed her last surgery for her injured finger. According to the actress, her finger will never function the same way again.
