Alden Richards is receiving hate from some netizens after he knelt in front of the Box-office winning director Cathy Garcia-Molina during the Hello, Love, Goodbye Media Conference that happened last July 9, 2019.
The filmmaker had showered the actor with praises and even said that Alden is one of the actors she enjoyed working with.
“I have worked with so many actors na mababait at magagaling. Alden is one of them. Nu’ng sinabi nilang Alden ang makakasama ni Kathryn Bernardo, sabi ko, ‘Hmmm, mataba lang pero mukhang marunong umarte itong batang ito,'” the director said, earning laughs from the audience.
Direk Cathy also admitted that she thought wrong about Alden’s acting skills and proudly said that he is a very kind man.
“Nagkamali ako. Hindi siya marunong. Magaling siya. At napakabait na tao,” she remarked.

Many netizens found his act as a humble one and even praised Alden.
However, some didn’t like what he did and even tagged him as “walang hiya” [shameless] for kneeling in front of director Cathy. They further claimed that Alden’s act was a disgrace to the GMA Network.

On Alden:
Words of faceless haters or the words from those he worked with, like actors, staff, crew and the great Director Cathy Molina Garcia?
When he can't contain his gratitude and embraced her like a child to a mother, that's priceless.#HELLOWorldMediaLaunch

After the media conference, Alden revealed the reason he became emotional during the event.
“Coming from direk Cathy, sobra akong na-move, na-touch. Hindi ko akalain na ganu’n ’yung magiging effect ko kay direk while doing this film. Siguro ganu’n talaga, you just be yourself and let other people speak for you,” he quipped.
His gratitude didn’t end there because he also took to Instagram to say his thanks to the Box Office director.
On Instagram he wrote, “This is probably one of my highlights as an actor. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with and learn from you, Direk. For your words of wisdom and encouragement, Direk Cathy…thank you.”
