After Asia’s Next Top Model Season 5 winner Maureen Wroblewitz had not been seen on Eat Bulaga for a month, rumors circulated that she was removed from or had left the show.
On July 6, 2019, Maureen addressed her disappearance from the said noontime show of GMA Network through her social media accounts.
On her YouTube channel, through a Q and A session of her vlog, Maureen confirmed that she let go of hosting in the said noontime show to reach her dreams and to focus on other projects.
The 21-year-old model said, “Wala na ako sa Eat Bulaga! kasi ang dami kong pangarap.
“Ang dami kong next projects at kailangan ko talaga mag-focus, mag-commit sa mga upcoming projects ko,” she added.
In the description section of her video, Maureen explained that it was a mutual decision between her and Eat Bulaga to leave the show. Aside from the warm welcome and love of the EB family towards her, she is also grateful for the experience she had with the show.
Her caption reads, “I know a lot of you have been asking me about Eat Bulaga and I’m sorry to say that I’m not with them anymore. No hard feelings tho!
“I’m so grateful for my experience there. They’ve accepted me into their family and made me feel really loved. I’ve learned a lot of things about my myself and I’m so thankful for that.
“I’m missing my EB family a lot but we all agreed on me taking this path that I’m taking now.
“I really gotta focus and commit to them so please continue supporting me on my journey and stay tuned for my next projects.”
On the same day, Maureen posted on her Twitter account that she will be focusing on learning to speak in Filipino and an explanation of why she badly wants to learn to speak the language fluently.
She admitted that she has been receiving hate comments because of her lack of skills in speaking the language. According to her, some even questioned her presence on Eat Bulaga because aside from trying hard to speak in Tagalog, she was also bland and seemed out-of-place.
As part of her upcoming projects in acting, the former host has to learn to speak in Tagalog.
More determined than ever, she is currently taking three classes a week and reads Filipino texts in her free time to enhance her learning.
