Queen of all media Kris Aquino has once again showed her admiration for President Rodrigo Duterte.
In a Facebook post right after Duterte’s 4th State of the Nation Address, Kris was all praises for the president’s “authenticity”.
“Kaya sana, tumulad na lang tayo sa pagka AUTHENTIC ni presidente Duterte, hindi nagyayabang, direcho magsalita,” Kris wrote.
Aquino also added that she admired Duterte’s humility to admit his mistakes and shortcomings.
“Bakit yung pinaka makapangyarihan kayang umamin sa taong bayan na marami pang dapat ayusin? Matapang na umamin in 35 years sya mismo nahirapang labanan ang corruption. Napahanga nya ko,” she added.
Kris also pointed out Duterte’s decisiveness, empathy, and sensitivity to people’s plight.
“Bakit si President Duterte kayang bigyang halaga ang hinaing ng lahat ng mga tao? Sa malalang traffic? Sa mahirap na pagbayad sa SSS, Pag-Ibig, Customs etc? Umaksyon sya at tinanggal yung mga palpak at corrupt sa Philhealth.”
This was not the first time that Kris publicly aired her admiration for the President.
Last year, Kris also took to social media to praise Duterte at the expense of Mar Roxas. It was after Mar’s wife, broadcaster Korina Sanchez, featured a story about James Yap and his new family in her news magazine show Rated K.
“Tatlong beses akong nagpunta sa Davao– sa kampanya nung 2010, kampanya 2013 para kay Sen Chiz & Sen Grace at nung nag Kris TV. Si PRRD lahat nung pagkakataon na nagkaharap kami, mabuti ang pinakita sa kin,” Kris wrote.
“I apologize sa Kuya ko, humihingi rin ako ng paumanhin sa ninang ko na nanay ni Mar- pero klarong klaro sa kin kung bakit ang nanalong Pangulo ay si DUTERTE
,” she added.
Kris-Noy rift
That could also be the reason why she and her brother, former President Noynoy Aquino, had a rift.
In an Instagram post last July 2018, Kris admitted that she was not on good terms with her brother, although she did not mention the real cause.
“My brother & I have had a complicated relationship, siguro po kasi only son & middle child sya, bunso ako. Siguro rin kasi aminadong opposites talaga kami- tahimik sya, pribado, iniisip mabuti ang bawat galaw. Alam nyo na kung ano ako. Dahil #satruelang, 3 months po kaming hindi okay,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, netizens especially critics of the government were not happy with Kris’ statements. They slammed the Kris for being hypocritical and obnoxious.

“i watched the SONA in full. Bakit si President Duterte kayang bigyang halaga ang hinaing ng lahat ng mga tao? Sa malalang traffic? Sa mahirap na pagbayad sa SSS, Pag-Ibig, Customs etc? Umaksyon sya at tinanggal yung mga palpak at corrupt sa Philhealth. Sinabihan tayo na pag may nakitang mali, karapatan nating mag reklamo at mag ingay dahil tayo ang nagpapa sweldo at nagpapa-andar sa gubyerno.
