- Kathryn Bernardo bagged the Entertainment Editors’ Choice Awards for Movies best actress award
- After her win at the 35th Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for Movies, Kathryn again won for best actress at The Eddys
- Bernardo bagged the award for her role in The Hows of Us
Box Office Queen Kathryn Bernardo emerged as the Best Actress for her role in the romantic drama film The Hows of Us at the EDDYs last July 14.
She beat fellow nominees Angelica Panganiban (Exes Baggage), Judy Ann Santos (Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes), Nadine Lustre (Never Not Love You) and Sarah Geronimo (Miss Granny) for the title.
On Instagram, the Kapamilya actress wrote a short but sweet message thanking the award-giving body for the recognition.
“As I type this, I am out of words. I honestly can’t even begin to express how grateful I am for this Best Actress award. I am incredibly honored and deeply thankful to the Entertainment Editors’ Choice Awards for Movies (The Eddys) for granting The Hows of Us another unexpected win. Maraming, maraming salamat po! ❤
“I personally believe that trophies do not make an actress. It’s also not about the sales or how much a movie has earned. It’s about the many hearts that you’re able to touch through your films. It’s about making a fictional character come to life and having other people see themselves in her as well. It’s about the literal sweat, blood, and tears that you pour into your role. I feel validated as an actress not because of this trophy, but because of what it symbolizes: people lining up in the cinemas to see the film we’ve worked so hard on, being able to touch so many hearts through it, and the continuous support and recognition that we’ve been receiving since. Your endless love and support make everything worthwhile. ❤
“Salamat din sayo, George, for making this possible! 🥺,” she wrote.
