Despite what happened to their love affair, Joshua Garcia didn’t turn his back on his ex-girlfriend turned best friend Julia Barretto amid the controversy she’s currently embroiled in.
In her Instagram, Julia posted a screenshot of Joshua’s message for her with the caption, “This guy knows how to find humor in everything.”
His message read, “Malalampasan mo ‘yan. I know you, you’re the strongest girl na nakilala ko. Takot nga ako sa iyo eh.”
The online world has been abuzz with the controversial breakup of Bea Alonzo and Gerald Anderson. Julia has been dragged into the issue due to speculations that she is the reason behind Bea and Gerald’s breakup.
Bea posted a cryptic message on her Instagram seemingly confirming the infidelity of her former lover. Many celebrities showed their support for the actress by sending her flowers and motivational messages. Even Joshua liked her post but kept mum about the issue.
But Julia never lost a friend in Joshua who still supports her despite him getting his heart broken.

In his past interview, the young actor revealed that despite the turnaround in their relationship, Julia still holds a special place in his heart.
He said, “Special pa rin siya, sobra. Mahal ko pa rin ‘yung taong ‘yun. Tagal namin nagsama at nagkatrabaho, eh. At least, hindi nawala ‘yung friendship namin. ‘Yun na lang pinagpapasalamat ko. Sa ngayon muna, best friends muna po kami. Kumbaga, mag-stick muna kami doon kasi doon po kami mas magaan sa isa’t isa.”
During the press conference of his upcoming teleserye, The Killer Bride, the Kapamilya star was asked about his message for Julia.
“Kaibigan ko siya eh, hindi naman siguro masama na ibigay ko ‘yung suporta ko sa kaniya, kumbaga kalimutan muna natin ‘yung problema, andito ako bilang kaibigan mo hindi para kung ano man,” he stated.
Julia and Joshua’s “kilig” chemistry was discovered when they teamed up for the movie, Vince and Kath and James with Ronnie Alonte in 2016. The success of their love team led them to make another movie Love You To The Stars and Back in 2017 and I Love You, Hater in 2018. Their tandem was also seen on TV via the 2018-2019 television series Ngayon At Kailanman.
Despite the breakup of Julia and Joshua, they affirmed that the JoshLia tandem will not split up. In fact, they will be seen together again on the big screen with their upcoming film, Block Z. Other cast members include McCoy Del Leon, Maris Racal, Ian Veneracion, Myrtle Sarrosa, Dimples Romana, Ina Reymundo, and Yves Flores.
Meanwhile, Joshua stars in the upcoming thriller drama series, The Killer Bride with Maja Salvador and Janella Salvador. In the said series, the young actor is being paired with Janella, Julia’s friend, for the first time.
Directed by Dado Lumibao, the gothic series is scheduled to air this August.
