- GMA Network’s ‘Kara Mia’ had more than one season
- ‘Kara Mia’ got a rating that is 14.1 points lower than its Kapamilya counterpart
- ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,’ top-billed by Coco Martin, has been airing for almost four years on Philippine television
After airing for four months, GMA Network’s primetime series Kara Mia ended last Friday (June 28) on GMA Telebabad. The series was the 13th Kapuso show pitted against the leading series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano on ABS-CBN.
This telefantasya initially gave the GMA Network management the confidence it would succeed due to its trending memes.
As expected, it was a happy ending for Kara Mia for its lead characters Barbie Forteza and Mika dela Cruz were finally separated and have their own bodies.
In terms of TV ratings, Kara Mia went up in its finale, but it was still not enough to topple the reigning FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
In Kantar Media (Urban + Rural Philippines), FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano recorded 35.6% last Friday (June 28) or 14.1 points higher than Kara Mia’s finale episode that only got 21.5%.
Meanwhile in NUTAM (Selected Urban Areas Only), the Kapuso Telefantasya registered a TV rating of 12.0% during its final episode versus its rival program on ABS-CBN, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, which recorded a Kantar TV rating of 13.9%. The Kapuso series recorded its closest gap of 1.9 with the show’s finale.
