- Rosang Agimat was confirmed to have been shelved
- The lead star of the series Gabbi Garcia aired her reaction about GMA Network’s decision
- The series would have been her launching series as a solo actress
The supposed replacement of the terminated series Kara Mia, Rosang Agimat, has been confirmed to be shelved by its lead star Gabbi Garcia. This was the result of the tragic on-set accident and eventual death of its cast member Eddie Garcia. The veteran actor sustained a severe neck fracture which put him in a coma.
After being comatose for almost two weeks, he succumbed to his injuries. The series’ shoot only lasted for days until it was postponed.
GMA Network decided to shelve the series but has yet to formally announce it. Gorgy Rula of Pilipino Star Ngayon also confirmed the cancellation of the series.
“Pinulong pala kamakalawa nang hapon ang mga artistang involved sa drama series na Rosang Agimat. Ipinagtapat na sa kanila na hindi na raw muna itutuloy ang naturang drama series na kung saan naaksidente si Eddie Garcia,” Rula said.
Gabbi, who plays the lead in the series, aired her reaction about the network’s decision during an interview with PEP.ph held after the launching event of Maybelline New York in Taguig City on July 2, Tuesday.
According to the Kapuso actress, she understands why GMA Network decided to shelve Rosang Agimat.
“Right now, it’s on hold. You know, it happens, and it’s a very unfortunate happening,” she said.
The whole cast and crew were also saddened about the unfortunate events.
“Of course, we’re all sad. It’s a devastating situation for us. It happened and walang may gusto… It was an accident and, you know, I don’t want to be selfish ‘tapos sasabihin ko nakakalungkot, kasi lahat naman kami nawalan ng trabaho, e. It’s just that we’re waiting for further announcements kung ano na ang mangyayari. But, as of now, it’s on hold,” Gabbi said.
Rosang Agimat would have been the biggest break for Gabbi and was supposed to be her launching series as a solo artist.
Despite this loss, Gabbi found a new opportunity. She is now set to star in an international digital series. The actress did not give further details about the series but she described it as “exciting.”

The actress added that she also shot a movie titled LSS as an official entry to the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino 2019. The film festival will be held from September 12 to 18 and the entries will be shown in all cinemas nationwide.
The movie, directed by Jade Castro for Globe Studios, will star Gabbi and her real-life boyfriend Khalil Ramos. Their characters in the story share a love for folk-pop group Ben&Ben.
