- Yeng Constantino rants about the medical service they get from Siargao hospital.
- Netizens called out Yeng for doctor shaming.
Kapamilya singer Yeng Constantino’s most recent social media post is gaining attention for allegedly shaming a medical professional.
In her Facebook post last Friday, July 19, Yeng lamented about their horrific experience in Siargao.
According to Yeng, her husband Yan Asuncion met an accident while cliff diving which led to him suffering some temporary memory loss.
After nung impact nagka-memory loss sya. Di nya maalala,” she wrote.
But aside from sharing their horrific experience, Yeng also slammed the doctor who attended to them and posted her picture.
That didn’t sit well with netizens who questioned Yeng’s doctor-shaming statement.
While many showed support and sympathy for their ordeal, the majority of netizens also called out Yeng for unnecessarily shaming and posting Dr. Luzares-Tan’s at the same time.
These netizens said there are formal and correct avenues to air their grievances and social media shaming shouldn’t be an option.
Siargao is geographically isolated so medical services are not expected to be top of the line. Add to that the government’s unequal distribution of health care benefits to the rural areas, it would be unfair to blame inadequacy on the personnel and medical professionals.
