Derek Ramsay is now back on TV and is top-billing his first ever series on GMA Network titled The Better Woman along with leading lady Andrea Torres.
The show premiered on July 1, Monday, on the network’s Telebabad line up taking over the time slot of Sahaya.
The hunky actor’s transfer from TV5 to GMA Network made noise on social media since it was expected that he would go back to his first network which is ABS-CBN but he disproved this speculation.
His fans were also rooting for his comeback series on Primetime TV. Sad to say, the pilot episode of the series did not prevail over its counterpart The General’s Daughter in the ratings game.
Still, netizens still appreciated the series and its cast’s acting skills, especially Andrea Torres’.

In terms of TV ratings, the pilot episode of ‘The Better Woman’ got a very low rating on two TV ratings providers – Kantar Media and NUTAM. Last Monday (July 1), ‘The General’s Daughter’ won its timeslot, registering 30.3%, versus new rival ‘The Better Woman’s’ 14.0%. The newest Kapuso series also registered a single-digit rating of 9.8% versus ‘The General Daughter’s’ 11.5%.
The new drama series features Andrea in a dual role as Jasmine and Juliet/Elaine while Derek is Andrew, a surf resort owner of La Union happily married to Jasmine.
The couple enjoyed their almost perfect love story until Juliet/Elaine, the long lost twin sister of Jasmine, meddled with the couples’ life.
Juliet/ Ellaine parted with her sister when their mother Erlinda handed her to another family leading her to live her life as an exotic pole dancer. Years later, Juliet/Elaine reunited with Jasmine and had a forbidden affair with her husband, Andrew.

The two sexy stars are joined in the series by Jaclyn Jose as Erlinda the mother of the twin sisters; Ina Feleo as Angela de Villa Castro, a single mother and the younger sister of Andrew; Marco Alcaraz as Glenn Santiago, Andrew’s business partner; Ashley Rivera as Chesi Rodriguez a friend and housemate of Juliet; Paolo Paraiso as a surfer named Joross Baltazar who is also a secret admirer Juliet; and Francis Makil as Amy Santos who keeps the secrets of her cousin Erlinda.
The show is headed by Mark Sicat dela Cruz and composed of a creative team that includes creative director Aloy Adlawan, creative head Suzette Doctolero, creative consultant Agnes Uligan, concept creator and head writer Angeli Delgado, writers Ana Aleta Nadela, Loi Argel Nova, Erwin Bravo, and brainstormer Rodney Junio.
