Beauty Gonzalez has become widely known for her role as Romina Andrada Mondragon in the top-rating afternoon series Kadenang Ginto. The series which premiered on October 8, 2018, has hooked viewers since day one and has been taking over the internet with memes as well.
Viewers can’t get enough with the feisty confrontations of Romina and her rival, Daniela Mondragon played by Dimples Romana as well as their respective daughters Cassie (Francine Diaz) and Marga (Andrea Brillantes). Their scenes have always been meme-able.
In a presscon last July 5, Friday, it was revealed that Beauty had planned on leaving ABS-CBN to work at another TV network in 2018.
Thankfully, she was stopped by Director Laurenti Dyogi and Deo Endrinal, Dreamscape entertainment Head, who offered her an afternoon teleserye.
“In all fairness, it was Lauren (Dyogi) who was talking to Beauty, and then sabi ni Lauren kunin mo na si Beauty sa Kadena (Kadenang Ginto). Ang sabi ko sige. Mineet namin siya trying to persuade her na when she was trying to move to another network at that time,” Deo shared.
Without Beauty in Kadenang Ginto, everything would have been so different. In a response, Beauty expressed her gratitude for the network and Deo, for being her ‘fairy godmother’.
“Thank You. Thank you so much. Thank you my fairy godmother. You’ve taught the dragons so well kaya the show is doing well and thank you ABS-CBN because I’m happy to be here and I don’t want to leave anymore. So thank you so much. I was just being a friendly neighbor, nakikain lang ako ng lechon tapos bumalik lang din ako,” Beauty said with glee.
After the presscon, PEP.ph asked Beauty if she was glad that she stayed with her home network.
“I’m glad I stayed, I made the right choice.”
Currently, she has an existing contract with ABS-CBN, which expires in 2020.
“And I’m glad they didn’t let me go and now, I’m gonna chain myself to them. Ikakadena ko na ang sarili ko sa ABS-CBN.”
But now, Beauty said she is happy on her showbiz career and described it as “golden” and “sparkling.”
“It’s great, it’s fantastic, it’s awesome, it’s golden, so it’s sparkling.”
Kadenang Ginto has been extended until 2020. The series is now set to surprise the viewers with its third season. The teaser for the new season became an instant trend on social media.
Beauty started her career as a housemate in Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition Plus in 2008 and then went on to become an actress at ABS-CBN.
Among her most notable teleseryes include Dream Dad (2014), Ningning (2015), and Pusong Ligaw (2017).
