Katrina Halili has played the arch nemesis of Darna twice and she has her own pick on who should be the next actress to play the iconic superheroine.
At the press conference of the movie KontrAdiksyon, which hit the big screen on June 14, Katrina revealed that Nadine Lustre is her pick for the next Darna.
Katrina is well aware that Nadine is also the choice of netizens for the next Darna.
“Parang naririnig ko gusto ng mga tao si Nadine, and parang for me, okay din naman talaga kasi Pinay and sexy and strong din siya, di ba? Strong din ang personality.”
Katrina portrayed Black Darna against Angel Locsin in 2005 and Valentina against Marian Rivera in 2009 for shows on GMA Network.
“Nakaka-excite kasi nakadalawang Darna ako sa GMA, e, so gagawin ulit siya on the big screen.
“So yun, nakaka-excite at nakakaintriga, kasi ilang beses nang napalitan yung Darna, di ba, dahil nga sa mga accidents.”
Aside from Katrina, Directors Erik Matti and Treb Monteras also see Nadine as a potential Darna. The viral video of Nadine shouting “Darna!” has only added to netizens clamoring for her to take on the iconic role next.
