A healing mass was held for Eddie Garcia on June 14, at Saint Andrew the Apostle Parish in Bel-Air, Makati.
The veteran actor’s close friends and relatives were present during the event to offer their prayers for Garcia’s recovery.Some media personalities also attended the event.
On June 8, Garcia sustained a serious neck injury in an on-set accident of a GMA Network soap. The award-winning actor was first rushed to Mary Johnston Hospital before being transferred to Makati Medical Center.

On Friday, June 14, as tweeted by MJ Felipe of ABS-CBN: “The latest medical bulletin issued on July 14, 12noon by Makati Medical Center states that Eddie Garcia continues to be in critical condition, still in a state of coma and still dependent on ventilator and medications to support his blood pressure.”

The family of Garcia has agreed to place the multi-awarded actor on DNR or “do-not-resuscitate” status, according to their spokesperson Dr. Tony Rebosa.
“Please be informed that the family of Mr. Eddie Garcia has not authorized nor has it consented to withdrawal of life support,” the statement read.
“They have however agreed to place him on DNR status,” Rebosa added.
This was according to the Twitter post by MJ Marfori, entertainment anchor and correspondent of TV5.

Rebosa also clarified that the Garcia family has no plans of taking the actor off of life support.
“As of the moment, wala pang desisyon ang pamilya niya. Pero definitely, they don’t want to let go,” Rebosa said.
“Lilibeth [Romero] is, of course, putting a brave face but deep inside I know ngiti-ngiti, paiyak-iyak. Pero support ng family niya ay nandun.
“Let’s also pray for Lilibeth kasi talagang devastated siya,” he said.
He also revealed that Garcia could become a quadriplegic if ever he’ll regain consciousness.
“You are paralyzed from the neck down.
“Well, if he does survive ‘yun ‘yung magiging consequence niya kasi matindi talaga ‘yung naging pinsala sa neck niya.”
The Garcia family and some celebrities are still asking the public to continue praying for Garcia’s speedy recovery.
