In the midst of Congress ‘freezing’ ABS-CBN’s franchise, Jake Cuenca chose to be a loyal to the Kapamilya network.
It was on June 12 when news came out saying that the House of Representatives has allegedly frozen House Bill 4349, or the bill that would renew the franchise of ABS-CBN to maintain operating as a broadcast station for the next 25 years. It has been pending at the committee level since November 2016.
The franchise is set to expire on March 20, 2020.
So it shows kung ano ang confidence na dala-dala ng ABS,” Jake said during the press conference of his upcoming movie KontrAdiksyon on June 14, held at Sequoia Hotel, Quezon City.
The actor who had recently received his first draft of two-year contract, revealed his reasons for supporting ABS-CBN amidst the issues.
Kung digital man ‘yan or network, ako, ABS pa rin,” said the Kapamilya actor.
In 2006, Jake transferred from GMA Network to ABS-CBN. Although his first home network for four years had laid out its plans for his career, Cuenca said that his decision was a leap as an actor.
Now almost thirteen years into his being a Kapamilya, he continues to reap the fruits of signing with the Network.

He also expressed his gladness on working with Bernal, it never happened when he was still a Kapuso.
