- GMA Network rebranded GMA Films to GMA Pictures
- ‘Kiko En Lala’ is not yet ready to be released on the big screen?
- This comedy movie is part of GMA Pictures’ comeback projects
GMA Network, Inc. (Global Media Arts Network Incorporated) is one of the Philippines largest, leading entertainment companies. It has been entertaining audiences for over 68 years now and just this March, rebranded GMA Films to GMA Pictures in an effort to reach out to more fans.
GMA Pictures first official comeback movie will be ‘Kiko En Lala.’
The comedy film will be the first starring role for new comedians Tetay and Super Tekla and will be headlined by Ai-Ai Delas Alas. The comedic pair are the new Sunday night “pambato” from GMA Network with a reality/comedy show. Also in the cast are perennial favorites Kim Domingo and Kapuso actor Derrick Monasterio.
Super Tekla shared his thoughts on his role.
“Honestly, I’m pressured because I feel that a big responsibility has been placed on my shoulders.”
The responsibility, the comedian was referring to in a recent media call, is meeting expectations that the Backyard Productions venture will have a good showing at the tills.
Super Tekla described what kind of comedy viewers should be expecting.
“Mine is pang-masa talaga,” he said
He added, “The comedy that I do is about the typical, ordinary experiences, the everyday. Ang purpose ko lang ay magpasaya.”
Many are excited about his first big screen project, but why hasn’t the movie been shown yet?
In the GMA Network official YouTube teaser of the movie, it was indicated that Kiko En Lala was to be released nationwide by May of this year but so far there are no signs that the movie will be shown any time soon.

GMA Pictures officially unveiled the official movie poster as early as March with no specified date of release.
Meanwhile, Super Tekla has been thankful for all the blessings he’s been receiving.
“Sa totoo lang, ang pinaka-dream ko lang ay magkaroon ng minimum wage na trabaho. Hindi ko akalain. Okey na ako dun. Thank you so much to GMA. I’m thankful for those who believe in me. Kung wala sila, wala si Tekla ngayon.”
‘Kiko En Lala’ is coming soon in cinemas nationwide.
