- Max Collins was worried for her colleagues who might lose their jobs as a result of ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal freeze
- Max and Bihag co-stars Jason Abalos and Sophie Albert were former Kapamilyas
Filipino-American Bihag star Max Collins-Magno reacted to the news of the alleged freezing of ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal. As a former Kapamilya star, she felt worried for her colleagues who might lose their jobs as a result of this.
“It’s sad for everybody na mawawalan ng trabaho, kung totoo man. Kung totoo man, maraming artistang mawawalan ng trabaho. Hindi lang artista, di ba? Pati na rin staff, empleyado… Sad, sad,” Max said.
“I bet, siguro naman… I mean, may iba pang mag-o-open na opportunities para sa mga tao, di ba?”she added.
During an interview of PEP.ph, Max also revealed that her Bihag co-star Sophie Albert was her batchmate in Star Magic Batch 15 in 2006 alongside with Jessy Mendiola and Bela Padilla, among others.
“Si Sophie rin, ka-batch ko siya,” Max said.

Just like her Bihag leading man Jason Abalos, Max started her career as a Kapamilya. She was discovered by a talent scout and later brought to try out a VTR with Star Magic, and eventually, she was selected for Star Magic Batch 15.
She was just 13 when she was launched as a Star Magic Batch 15 member. Under her stage name Isabelle Abiera, she did small roles in a number of ABS-CBN shows.
In 2010, when her contract with Star Magic ended, Collins left for the United States to figure things out. A year after, she returned to the Philippines to relaunch her entertainment career. She changed her agent to Perry Lansigan’s PPL Entertainment, Inc., and changed her stage name to Max Collins, and finally signed an exclusive contract with GMA Network.

In 2012, she starred as a supporting role in her first afternoon series project under GMA Network, The Good Daughter. She also starred in Primetime TV series Pahiram Nang Isang Sandali with Dingdong Dantes, alongside Lorna Tolentino and Boyet de Leon.
For now, Max and her husband Pancho Magno are hoping for a baby. The couple is preparing for their future as a family by building a three-bedroom, two-garage house.
“Two days ago, pine-paint na namin yung bahay,” Max shared in an interview of Pep.ph during her taping for Bihag last May 28.
