It seems like another celebrity wants to become an entrepreneur. Like other artists, Dingdong Dantes wants to open his own restaurant. This, after he inked a partnership with Mesa Restaurant at SM Aura which is under Foodee Global Concepts last Thursday, June 20, 2019.
As an endorser, Dingdong will be part of their “Road to 100” campaign. Moreover, just like Sharon Cuneta and KC Concepcion, the Kapuso Network Primetime King wants to have his own franchise of the restaurant, too.
According to the actor, since his wife Marian Rivera is fond of cooking, the business fit for them is a restaurant. He also revealed that Marian really learned how to cook the food they love including his favorite Baby Squid with Olive Oil.
“Malay nyo sooner or later, she can also contribute to you know giving her one of her dishes. Sila na hong bahala mag-usap sina Sir Rikki at Sir Eric Dee,” he said.
Actually, before Dingdong went to Mesa for the signing of the contract, he was present at the contract signing of GMA Network and the Armed Forces of the Philippines whom they’ll be working with for the remake of Descendants of the Sun.
Since his role is a soldier, the Armed Forces of the Philippines will play a vital role in the upcoming series.
“Klaro muna na partners namin sila dito. Nandiyan sila para gabayan kami dahil aside from representing characters na na-create ng Descendants of the Sun, ni-represent din natin ang ating Armed Force,” he said.
“So, we want to represent them with honor and pride. Kailangang gawin nang tama,” the Primetime King added.
During the media preview, the other cast members of the remake of Descendants of the Sun were also revealed.
Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Rocco Nacino complete the main cast with them portraying Lt. Moira Defensor and Sgt. Diego Ramos respectively.
The Philippine adaptation of Descendants of the Sun will also include Chariz Solomon, Hailey Mendes, Lucho Ayala, Paul Salas, Prince Clemente, and Renz Fernandez.
Former ABS-CBN actor Jon Lucas who recently bid goodbye to Star Magic and the Kapamilya Network will reportedly be included in the DOTS remake. This will mark his first project as a Kapuso.
Dingdong will bring to life the character of Captain Lucas Manalo – the Filipino version of Song Joong-Ki’s Captain Yoo Shi Jin a.k.a. “Big Boss” character in the hit Korean drama series.
However, who will be the leading lady of “Big Boss” wasn’t clear yet since she wasn’t present at the media preview. There were reports stating that Jennylyn Mercado will take the role but this hasn’t been confirmed yet.
There were also rumors saying that maybe the network is waiting for Marian to be Dingdong’s leading lady. But, according to the actor, his wife isn’t ready.
Still, the preparation time is long enough to pick the actress who will best fit the role since the remake is set to air next year.
In the meantime, Dingdong will still be hosting Amazing Earth and StarStruck.
