Director Joel Lamangan candidly shared his experience filming Because I Love You with newbie actors David Licauco and Shaira Diaz.
In an interview with Dondon Sermino, the veteran director said the filming took a while because he wanted to make the film more beautiful.
“Medyo tumagal daw ang paggawa nila ng movie na ‘Because I Love You.’ Pinaganda kasi talaga,” he said.
Because I Love You is a romcom movie starring David Licauco and Shaira Diaz.
It is the story of two people who come from different backgrounds and eventually fall in love with each other. Rael played by Licauco comes from a very rich family while Summer played by Diaz is an ordinary firewoman.
During the interview, Direk Joel described his working relationship with the two lead stars.
According to him, they are both good especially Shaira who had undergone a workshop with him at TV5.
“Si David Licauco guwapo talaga. Si Shaira Diaz, ang husay umarte. Ako ang nag-workshop sa kanya nu’ng nasa TV5 pa siya,” he said.
“Mahusay talaga silang dalawa. Si David, may makikita kang something sa kanya,” he added.

Meanwhile, asked whether the two got to experience his “wrath” and cried during their shooting, the director had this to say.
“Oo naman! Pero hindi naman lupit. Guidance lang. Hahahahaha!
“Magagaling naman sila. Si David naman nakakasunod din. Si Shaira nga kasi ako ang nag-workshop sa kanya noon kaya sanay na ako sa kanya.
“Si David, bukod sa guwapo siya, okey ang akting niya. Ang mahirap kasi, hindi ka na marunong umarte, pangit ka pa. Wala tayong magagawa. Pangit na nga, hindi pa marunong umarte, aba. Pero kung pangit ka, tapos magaling kang umarte, puwede pa ‘yon.”
