- It was rumored that Regine Velasquez, newly transferred from GMA Network, was the reason for the disappearance of some artists on ‘ASAP’
- Angeline Quinto was one of the dimissed regular performers on ‘ASAP’
- Angeline clarified that Regine is not the reason why she left the now reformatted show, ‘ASAP Natin ‘To’
Kapamilya singer and actress Angeline Quinto was hailed as the winner of ‘Star Power: Sharon’s Search For The Next Female Pop Superstar’ in 2011.
Since then, she became a regular performer on ‘ASAP,’ the Sunday musical variety show of ABS-CBN.
It was in November 2018 when the producers of the variety show decided to reformat the show and rename it to ‘ASAP Natin ‘To.’ At the same time, they launched its online show ‘I Want ASAP’ which streams on the iWant app in the same timeslot.
To make way for new segments, the producers decided to let go of some regular performers including Angeline Quinto. It was rumored that Regine Velasquez, newly transferred from GMA Network, was the reason for these casualties on the show.
Angeline admitted that it became difficult for her at first but she was eventually consoled by the show’s management.
Ngayon, kahit papaano, unti-unti na po akong nakakabalik sa ASAP,” Angeline stated during a press conference for her upcoming concert.
In contrast to the circulating rumors, Angeline defended Regine and said that she must not be blamed for the disappearance of some performers.
For now, Angeline is prepping for her upcoming concert titled Angeline K ‘To Concert along with her good friend K Brosas. Erik Santos, Empoy, and Ogie Alcasid will be their guests.
The said concert will be held at the Araneta Coliseum on July 12.
