- Aiko Melendez was angry about fake news about Eddie Garcia
- Aiko asked the public to stop making misleading news and posts about the veteran actor
Multi-awarded actress Aiko Melendez asked netizens to stop spreading fake news about the real condition of veteran actor Eddie Garcia.
Melendez who recently worked with Eddie in the critically acclaimed film Rainbow’s Sunset was enraged with all the fake news circulating on social media declaring Eddie Garcia was dead.
In the article by Leo Bukas on the PUSH website, Melendez said she hoped people will stop posting misleading news and creating confusion about the real condition of the veteran actor.
“Sana people will stop posting misleading news about Tito Eddie Garcia. He is still fighting all his chances to live. The best way we can do is wait for the official statement from the family,” she said.
Aiko also recalled her good working relationship with Garcia, especially in Rainbow’s Sunset.
“I know how great of a man Tito Eddie is, and we are all eager to know his situation. I myself is just waiting. His last movie and the past movies we made together is something I will cherish for the rest of my life. Rainbow’s Sunset’ is something that will forever be etched in my heart. Not only did I worked with a good man but he treated me and the rest of the cast something special. So for now, laban pa din, Manoy! You are loved by many! You are prayed by many! One prayer is powerful. I believe in miracles!”
Aiko’s anger came from misleading posts circulating on social media claiming Eddie Garcia was already dead.
Meanwhile, in her Philstar article, columnist Lolit Solis also slammed the fake news going around regarding Eddie Garcia.
She said that claims of Eddie’s death spread like wildfire after the incident but in reality he is still alive at the ICU of the Makati Medical Center.
In the article, Manay Lolit also asked people to stop blaming the production team and GMA network because what happened was an accident.
“Aksidente ang nangyari kaya itigil na sana ang turuan at paghahanap ng masisisi. Pati ‘yung mga wala naman sa taping at nakiki-tsismis lang, may kanya-kanyang opinyon na mostly negative,” she said.
Instead, she said people should just pray for healing and fast recovery of the veteran actor.
“Kesa mang-intriga at maghanap ng sisisihin, makabubuti na ipagdasal natin si Eddie dahil kung nasa wisyo na ito, tiyak na ‘yon din ang kanyang sasabihin, aksidente ang nangyari at minalas lang na siya ang involved,” Solis added.
