- Palace spox Salvador Panelo reacts to Mocha Uson losing in the elections
- Salvador Panelo can’t believe that Mocha Uson lost in the election
- He thinks that Uson might have been overly confident that she would win
The 2019 midterm elections have almost come to an end and one of the people who lost their bid for a government position is former communications assistant secretary Margaux “Mocha” Uson whose party list, AA Kasosyo, did not win a single seat in Congress.
Some think that the loss may be due to Uson’s overconfidence that she would win the elections.
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo expressed his disbelief in AA Kasyoso’s failure to secure even a single seat in the Congress.
“Bakit talo si Mocha? Parang I can’t believe that,” he said.
Netizens aired their mixed reactions on social media:

In the partial and unofficial tally as of 5:01 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, AA Kasyoso garnered 116,815 votes, failing to reach the requirement of one percent of total votes to get a seat in the Congress. Uson’s partylist even placed 73rd.
Baka she was overconfident considering na she has five million followers and most of them are overseas na bumuboto. Kasi alam ko nangangampaniya siya for others,” Panelo explained.
Panelo even said that maybe if the party list was named after Uson then she could have won.
Uson resigned from her post and filed for her partylist’s candidacy in October of last year.
