“My parents could not give me enough for me to survive thru the week, so I thought that the only way I’m going to eat today is if I still this.” Tony Labrusca relates his hardwhips during his stay in Canada in a recent interview with Tonight With Boy Abunda last April 30, 2019.
He even added, “I steal everything that I feel I can steal’, but he was never caught. Among the random items that he took are clothes, scarfs, and anything that he wants to snap. Labrusca also related that there was a time that he stole two bags because the first one that he took wasn’t the color that he liked.
Labrusca, however, tells the public to not tolerate him and discourages others to do the same act he did back in the day.
He stressed out that as of today, he is a changed man and he does not shoplift anymore. Labrusca also reiterated the promise he made on the show that he would return to the stores from which he stole to pay them back.
“I did make light of the situation and if you were there you would know I promised Tito Boy I would pay back the places I took from because I can now afford them,” he said.
He made a TV guesting on Tonight With Boy Abunda to promote his new series, ‘Sino Ang May Sala’ (Mea Culpa).
After the episode aired, Tony then took to Twitter to defend himself, seeing that his honesty on-air sparked backlash from some viewers.
“You guys are so quick to judge,” he wrote.
He emphasized that he was not proud of what he had done, and never said that his actions were right. He also promised that he would pay back his dues now that he is financially able to do so.
Tony ends his Twitter thread by calling out the “self-righteous”. “NO ONE is perfect, so stop acting like it,” he said
According to Mayo Clinic, Kleptomania (klep-toe-MAY-nee-uh), is the recurrent inability to resist urges to steal items that you generally don’t really need and that usually have little value. Kleptomania is a rare but serious mental health disorder that can cause much emotional pain to you and your loved ones if not treated.
