- Veteran actor Tirso Cruz III praised Angel Locsin for her exceptional acting in The General’ s Daughter
- Cruz said Locsin “morphs” into her character right before your eyes
- The General’s Daughter leapt to a record-high viewership share
‘The General’s Daughter’ leapt to a record-high viewership share during the intense revelation scene between Marcial (Albert Martinez) and his assassin Rhian (Angel Locsin) where the truth about Rhian’s parents was revealed.
Veteran actor Tirso Cruz III, who plays the main antagonist, Santiago Guerrero, couldn’t be happier with the reception the show has been getting. He revealed that viewers are so glued to the series that he has had interesting interactions with some fans.
“Madalas, maraming nagagalit na followers ni Angel. Pero mostly nakakatuwa sa kanila. Minsan sa mall, biglang-bigla [akong sasabihan], ‘Ikaw, napakasalbahe mo.’ Tapos biglang [sasabihin nila], ‘Pakuha kami ng picture,'” he shared.
“Tapos sasabihin ko, ‘Eh bakit ka papa-picture sa akin eh salbahe ako?’ [Sasabihin nila] ‘Eh hindi, alam ko naman na sa show mo lang ‘yon.’ So basically nakakaapekto ako sa kanila,” Tirso added.
Tirso also praised Angel’s acting.
“Si Angel nakakatakot, she morphs into something. Usually ako pagdating sa set, minsan I go out of my way, pupunta ako sa tent niya. Minsan aabutan ko ‘yan when she’s having lunch or merienda with the other crew or staff, at babati ako. Ano ‘yan, she’s so lovable, she’s so sweet. She looks after everybody,” he said.
Tirso shared how thoughtful Angel is as a person off-screen, which is totally different from her fearless character in the teleserye.

“Kapag ‘yung trabaho na, talagang nag-iiba ang karakter niya, ang pagkatao niya. Makikita mo right before your very eyes, makikita mo nagmo-morph siya into Rhian. After that, biglang pag-turn, si Angel na naman,” he said.
