Just in wake of actress Liza Soberano’s withdrawal from the ‘Darna’ movie project due to medical conditions, netizens had their personal fan favorites of who they really want and see fit for ‘Darna’s’ role and one of the most heard names is no other than Nadine Lustre.
Well, a viral video had circulated of Nadine Lustre shouting the iconic line “Ding, ang bato! DARNA!” for the very first time, as uploaded by Donnalyn Bartolome. On the 2-minute video, Donnalyn was seemingly convincing Nadine, and she was hesitant at first but afterwards, the actress gave in and effortlessly shouted Darna! With no conviction.
The video gained 100k views already and it went viral on other social media platforms, too, and the netizens were greatly astounded and amazed on how she did it, which now seems Nadine is best fit for Darna, and is somehow telling that the search is over!

In the film industry, one of the sought-after directors, Direk Erik Matti, who directed ‘Darna’ at the beginning of the project, said his personal pick for ‘Darna’ is Nadine Lustre, which he revealed during the press conference of his film ‘Kuwaresma.’
“Ang feeling ko lang, si Nadine ‘yung babagay talaga sa tipo niya, sa tipo na role ni Darna.”
Also on the 67th FAMAS Gabi ng Parangal, where Nadine Lustre was awarded as the 67th Best Actress, Director Treb Monteras shared his opinion on Nadine being ‘Darna’ when asked in an interview, “Kung ang tanong, ay kung bagay ba siya, definitely, sobra siyang bagay. And actually may isa pang comic super hero, yung Wave, yung bago ng Marvel, na si Nadine din daw yung inspirasyon.”
The director even recalled the Marvel superhero ‘Wave’ where Nadine was the inspiration.
