Today, Spotify launches a new “The Philippines Discovers” playlist based on the listening trends of music fans across the country. Tracks featured in this playlist reflect the most discovered artists of the Philippines, and ALLMO$T, This Band, and JM De Guzman are just a few of the fresh names in music that young people are discovering.

Spotify powers an average of 11 billion artist discoveries each month. Our listeners are beyond curious and vastly open to expanding their taste in music and on Spotify, fans can discover their next favourite in a world full of new artists, songs and genres to explore. Just ask any 18 to 24 year-old Spotify user; we’ve recently uncovered that listeners in this age group have a unique and somewhat unexpected taste for discovery.

“Any time, any place, any mood – Spotify offers so much more than instant access to all the world’s music. As the world’s most popular music streaming subscription service with more than 50 million tracks, both free listeners and subscribers are discovering more thanks to a truly personalised experience. Customized and curated playlists such as Discover Weekly and Tatak Pinoy help fans find the music they love as well as the ability to discover new favourites along the way,” says Jan-Paul Jeffrey, Head of Marketing, SEA, Spotify.

In Asia, Gen Z fans are bopping away to the hottest K-Pop music and some of K-Pop’s latest rookie bands ITZY and Spotify’s Early Noise 2019 feature – TOMORROW X TOGETHER – can be found within the most discovered artist list across Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Thailand.

In the Philippines, more than 85% of artists being discovered on Spotify in this list are OPM artists, particularly local favorites such as ALLMO$T, This Band, I Belong to the Zoo, and Ben&Ben. JM De Guzman and Armi Millare also make the Top 10, with their respective songs famously featured from the hit 2019 film, “Alone/Together.” In fact, a lot of classic bands from the late ‘90s, such as Eraserheads and Parokya Ni Edgar, to the early 2000s, such as Silent Sanctuary, Hale, and Callalily, are still being discovered on Spotify.

Here are the Top 20 most discovered artists in the Philippines who have been discovered (played for the first time) by 18 to 24 year-olds in the past 60 days:

  1. ALLMO$T
  2. This BAnd
